2021.10.21 01:48 zeldapkmn Asus Zephyrus G15 vs Lenovo Legion Slim 7: extremely close, need help deciding!
I want a light 15 in. gaming laptop for university, to replace my bulky gaming laptop (6.6 lb) and my trash Chromebook in one fell swoop
Zephyrus G15 2021:
GPU: RTX 3060 at base 80W + 15W from DynamicBoost CPU: Ryzen 9 5900HS Display: 2560 x 1440 Weight: 4.2 lb Notes: Great speakers Price: $1500 MSRP (but been sold out for months)
Lenovo Legion Slim 7: GPU: RTX 3060 at base 100W (with a Mux Switch for up to a 30% performance increase in CPU-bound games) CPU: Ryzen 7 5800H Display: 1920 x 1080 Weight: 4.2 lb Notes: Runs pretty hot, this model only has G-SYNC, no Freesync, looks less "gamer-y" than the G15 Price: $1530 MSRP (in stock)
Thoughts? Been doing research for so many days and settled on these two

2021.10.21 01:48 jjlinjjie Why I loved and still love AHS
Because, exactly, of its batshit over-the-top gross sexy throw-everything-but-the-kitchen-sink campy storytelling! That's why I was slightly disappointed with the earlier part of Cult, the whole Apocalypse and 1984 - because it seemed too simple. If I wanted straightforward in-your-face horror I would go to the movies; if I wanted slowburning horror I would watch Mike Flanagan, though safe to say I lowkey felt some slowburns were just tedious to the point of bore. AHS is the delightful middle ground - I love my crazy shit that doesn't make sense sometimes. I have to agree the endings are the Achilles' Heel of this show but it leaves me to think what it could've been, which is fun.

2021.10.21 01:48 RAM_Cache Viability of Azure
I am curious what the group here thinks with regards to Azure and long term viability and profitability as compared to more traditional set ups. To be more specific, running infrastructure and various platforms in Azure.
Let’s say you roll out Server 2016 in 2016 with new hardware on prem. As an MSP, you made margin on the equipment and your labor cost. Over a 10 year time frame, you will replace hardware perhaps 1 or 2 more times with little labor cost.
If you roll the same server 2016 in 2016 and place it in Azure, you made money on your labor costs. Over the next 10 years, you have little to no labor for projects. However, you are making likely 10-20% every year.
Azure, to me, seems to be less work on the service side, but at the expense of project revenue. Given that recurring service revenue is the driving factor for most MSPs rather than project revenue, it seems like Azure is a good way to go. I do acknowledge that clients may not stay around for 10 years, but the bulk of project labor in both scenarios happens in year 1.
Has anyone actually sat down to calculate this out and see which one actually came out to be more profitable?
