2021.10.21 03:03 hi3lla My experience of doing a live draping session: life changing!

I have been creeping on this subreddit for around 2 years but this is my first post. I write this to share some insight on how it was to attend a live Image Consulting Session for anyone who is interested if it's worth it or not. Based on the title this was obviously worth it for me, but I will try to list the pros and cons.
My previous experience with the 4 Season System:
I've been on a journey for a few years trying to figure out my personal style. A few years I found out of the concept of Kibbe and body typing in general but it wasn't until maybe 2 years ago I really started to be interested in Personal Color Analyze and more specifically the four seasons. During these years I've spent a lot of time trying to typing myself. I spent some money on apps and virtual tests but never visited a professional live.
Self typing results:
It wasn't until this summer I really started to figure out my season in a more systematic way. To figure out my season I used this website: The result I came up was Light Summer. I resonated with these colors quite a bit (though the general color scheme is a bit too romantic and girly for my personal style) and I did resonate with the women listed as Light Summer.
My main issue with self typing:
While Light Summer felt like season matching my coloring the best (I have fair neutral skin, naturally natural-ash blond with blue gray eyes) there was one main issue: light colors washes me out. This made me question whether I really could be a light season. On the other hand Light Summer color have the right amount of chroma for my skin and it have the cool-neutral colors I look the best in. Because of my very neutral skin (it's more yellow then pink, maybe it's a light olive?), I was pretty sure I wasn't any of the true seasons. I was also pretty sure I wasn't any of the soft seasons because they where too muted and gray for my skin. The bright where too bright and the dark too dark. What season could I be?
Potential seasons before going to the live draping session:

The Japanese 4 Season System:
I live in Tokyo (I'm originally from northern Europe) and it was here I became interested in Seasonal Coloring. The Four Season System seem to be very popular here among women and men. Many shops offers some kind of consulting and many of my Japanese friends have had live draping sessions with professionals Image Consultants in the past. In my home country I had almost never heard of image consulting and was therefor shocked at how many people had done it here.
This of course peaked my interested and was originally the reason why I started to read up on Seasonal Coloring. One main difference it seams like from Japan and the west is that it mostly focused on 4 seasons, not 12. The colors used when describing each seasons is also a bit different from what I see when I search in English on example Pinterest. Overall I prefer the colors used in Japanese color palettes because I find them a bit more wearable, but this can also be because the palettes found in Pinterest is not accurate enough to what the original colors is.
Color swatches of the 4 Seasons (from professional draping websites): (30 colors for each season, scroll to the bottom of the site) (40 colors for each season) (30 colors for each season)
Background on live draping session:
I had found a Image Consulting with English speaking staff a few years ago. After spending a lot of time and even some money for virtual tests and apps I decided to bite the bullet and pay for a live session. Right now the covid cases is low in Tokyo and I had just got my second vaccination shot.
I contacted them on a Monday and on Saturday the same week I had a session booked (they where very quick to respond). This was more then just a color draping session and included a full face and body analyze, and while I was interested in those aspects too. It was mainly the color draping I was interested in.
The result of the live session:
If you remember what I wrote before this is basically what I already suspected, however getting it confirmed by a professional and with my own eyes using professional drapes was a great confirmation and gave me a lot of piece of mind.
Basically I learned that yes, I am a Light SummeLight Spring but it's ok to avoid all the light pastel colors from those two palettes.
The ladies from the consulting picked out my best colors, many which is already present in my wardrobe and I got a fabric swatch booklet with my best colors.
I of course learned a lot that day but this is specifically about my color journey.
Was it worth it:
Yes, for me it was worth it. Even though it might sound like it was just confirmations of my already beliefs (and in some case this is true) it really felt life changing. This gave me so much more trust in my own gut feeling and to believe in my own intuition, and a reminder that when one try to overanalyze something we can sometimes stray longer and longer off the path because we start focus in on small details instead of seeing the bigger picture.
For me I feel completely satisfied with my result and I don't mind that I don't perfectly fit into a neat 12 season package. I now know my best colors, saw them draped on me and know it's accurate, and that's all that matter. I think this it mostly what I feel: liberated. Because while the 12 seasons is a great tool to find your best colors, the goal is not to find your perfect season - it's to find your perfect colors!
Most of the colors they picked out for me as my best I already knew I looked good in, but because I focused so much on finding "my season" that I almost forgot what the end goal was. I wanted to perfectly match one of the beautiful color palettes on Pinterest, instead of thinking of my wardrobe as a whole.
Who might not benefit from a live draping session:
I think if you have a lot of inner resistant to some seasons and/or a strong desire to fit into one of the categories. A few years ago I would never accept anyone typing me as Autumn because I really disliked the Autumn palette. I for a long time had the same issue with the Kibble body types. However, at this point in my life I was open to any season and I really just wanted to find my best color and be done with it. I've come to appreciate the beauty and charm of all seasons and would be happy with any of them.
If you don't have a lot of money, then maybe you run into the risk of feeling that the typing session wouldn't be worth it. Money was not an issue for me at this time so for me it was ok, and even if I would have come away from the session learned nothing at least it would have been an interesting experience. Fortunate this was not the case and I loved everything about the session! (For reference I think I payed 28'000 JP Yen for a 2.5 hour session with 2 (!) full time consultants and therefore felt like it was very affordable!)
Lastly maybe it isn't worth it if you think you have typed yourself correctly already and are happy with your season and colors. This is the end goal and if you're already happy with the colors you wear, why pay for someone to maybe tell you that you should change colors and instead create a new identity crisis. Personally I'm not interested in someone typing me anymore because I'm happy with my result and feel like I have finally found my way home.
Overall, if you have the desire, time, money and access to get a live draping session instead of a virtual one, I highly recommend it.
Good luck all finding your type!

My PC just received the Windows 11 upgrade and being this close to launch I don't want to mess around to find out that the update doesn't work with PoE. Anyone that has upgraded to Windows 11, how does PoE run with it? As well as other tools like PoB and Awakened PoE Trade?

2021.10.21 03:03 bucymo Hurts more afterwards

I mentioned the usual stiffness on upper back with a tightness on right side of the neck after one morning when I woke up with my head turned to left.
After massage, acupuncture, then the harder chiropractic, pain got worse. I had no issue in the left side of the neck but I feel bit of tightness when I turn right. Is this some type of healing/recovery process?

2021.10.21 03:03 ChaoSpinner Stay and work vs Going abroad for a Master

Well, let me give you guys some background and then if you can I would appreciate some input.
I live in Guatemala - third world country- where I studied Chemistry, perhaps not the best idea to study a scientific career in a country where research is basically nonexistent. Anyway, since I didn´t have a wealthy family I worked through college to be able to pay it and then went right in to work on pharmaceutical industry since I couldn´t afford to stay off work to find a postgraduate opportunity or any kind of internship abroad.
So, after 5 years of working in this field and reaching a decent position with a decent salary, I still want to go abroad and study a master so I might be able to find an opportunity to work on research for materials chemistry, a field that I really like.
What makes me hesitaste, is that I am 32 years old with a decent job here that is not easy to get these days, and leaving for a masters (if I manage to land a scholarship for it) in a field that there is basically no work option in my country might seem to risky.
So, should I bet everything on chasing dreams or stay where I can be financially stable and might have an opportunity to keep growing even when I am not passionate about my job.
Also, I intend to try and stay and work where I get my masters, but since that is not an easy move there is a high possibility that I will have to return to my home country.
Thanks for any input.

2021.10.21 03:03 jackavix What on earth is stored in the "User data" section of my apps that is taking up so much space? and how can I remove it WITHOUT having to log back into everything and losing the (actually useful) account and personalisation settings?

I've just gone through a phone cleanse and am absolutely flabberghasted to know what is stored in the "user data" portion of my apps that takes up so much space. it is obviously present most on the apps that I use most, but I cannot fathom what it is. I know the purpose of Cache, and when I have huge amounts of cache on apps I frequent - I get it. I also understand that User Data contains stuff such as login and account info and any personalisation settings.
But what is the rest of it and why can't I remove it from within the app!?? As a case study, messenger: 385 mb. What is this? It's not messages, it's not the photos. My login is stored, and a couple of chats have themes - but these are present on my computer too - so its not stored on my phone? Right now, i'm not concerned specifically about data gathering, just why is this crap on my device? why can't i delete it from within the messenger app without logging me out and having to re-do all my login details?
Some, very specific apps, allow you to go into there storage and delete stuff - but this is very few apps. None of the ones below allow me to do this.
To give an idea of how much space this "user data" is taking up:
Chrome - 1.2 gb - what on earth is this??!?!?!?!?!?!? LIKE WHAT? Microsoft Teams - 910 mb - WTF Google - 870 Messenger - 400 mb Line - 450 mb Speech services (570!?) Snapchat (204) TikTok - 183 mb - i literally haven't even USED tiktok on this phone aside from looking at one profile? shouldn't that be part of the cache? Instagram - 225 mb
I just want to delete this and i dont want to have to log back into everything. Why is this so hard? why is it not inbuilt?
Sorry if this is a repost, however I've tried to search for this answer high and low truly, however due to the nature of people caring specifically about data security, I mainly get posts about how much companies are spying on us - not what I'm looking for.
I am running a Pixel 4XL on Android 11.

2021.10.21 03:03 Some_Personality8379 Would it be too odd for a Dr. Strange or Harry Potter style magic user to be a Quirk user in the MHA world? And also what about an Iron Fist chi/ki energy user in the MHA world too?

I ask this question. Because the X-Men or Marvel Avengers have a mutant character called Scarlet Witch who is pretty much a mutant version of Dr. Strange lol. A genetic mutation ability allows her to control magic.
Since MHA is inspired by American comics. Particularly Marvel comics for this post. Would it be a good idea for magic to be a quirk in the world of MHA? Or is it too much of a weird idea that won't fit in the verse?
And as for the Iron Fist chi/ki stuff. Marvel actually has a character who got chi/ki powers from an accident. While it took chi-based characters like Iron Fist and Shang Chi years to master their ki/chi. But somehow this teenage kid is known as Powerman (not Luke Cage) get chi powers from an accident LMAO.
So would it be weird for a ki/chi user to exist in MHA too?
