2021.12.04 14:28 UnderstandingOk7037 When can I go back to school/see people? Everyone's telling me I should get a negative test first..
21F. I'm on day 9 since getting symptoms and my 10 day isolation period ends on Monday. I'm concerned about all the work I missed last week in class, but my professor is understandably still a bit concerned about me coming back to class on Monday and thinks I should get a negative test first. Some of my friends/boyfriend said the same thing: they want me to get a negative test before seeing anyone. My college offers regular covid tests but the health center told me I'm actually test exempt for 90 days since people can test positive for up to three months after getting it. I don't know that many people that have had it and no one seems to be aware of the fact that it's hard to get a negative test after 10 days even if you're not contagious anymore. Should I consider getting an at home test anyway? Do you think it's truly fine to resume your normal life after 10 days if symptoms are improving and you don't have a fever or is it honestly still pretty risky in terms of affecting others? 2021.12.04 14:28 Supercoolswagbanana Is crossover actually a crossover?
This might be a really stupid question but I've been meaning to start reading crossover but I'm not sure if there is anything I should have read before hand, I've loved everything I've read by donny cates so I really wanna give it a try. So are there any series I should read beforehand?

2021.12.04 14:28 KnipDlrow In what way is this my problem?
I’ve never understood how employers think that being short-staffed is a problem that employees have to deal with. I had to call in today due to sickness, and I also called in last Saturday due to sickness. Apparently they didn’t like me calling in the night before (so that I could give them time to find someone, or just be prepared.) I got a text this morning saying that “we are too short-staffed for you to be calling in.” When did that become my problem?

2021.12.04 14:28 PresidentRaggy [MATCH THREAD] FA Cup Final: Chelsea W vs. Arsenal W, 05/12, 14:00
Date: Sunday, 5 December 2021
KO: 14:00 GMT
Competition: Women’s Vitality FA Cup Final
Chelsea’s only defeat this season was against Arsenal in the opening match of this term, where the Gunners won 3-2 at the Emirates. Some argument could be (and has been) made that Beth Mead’s winning goal was offside then, but what’s done is done and we move forward. Arsenal have been impressive, but not infallible, so far this term. They are undefeated and sit top of the Women’s Super League, one point ahead of Chelsea.
This is the third time these London clubs have met in an FA Cup final. Arsenal won 1-0 in 2016, and Chelsea claimed the cup in 2018 by a scoreline of 3-1. Arsenal have lifted the cup an impressive 14 times; Chelsea have won it twice. If Chelsea win, they complete a domestic treble -- a quadruple, if you count the Community Shield -- and Emma Hayes would become the first manager to win a women’s FA Cup three times (I don’t have a citation for that but I read it somewhere). Of course, Hayes is not one to think about records before they are met, taking her club through matches one day at a time.
Chelsea have not conceded a goal in the run-up to the final; Arsenal conceded just one, in the quarterfinals against Tottenham.
Both clubs are stacked with attacking talent: Vivianna Miedema, Beth Mead, Kim Little, and Katie McCabe have all been in top form this season for Arsenal, and midfielder Frida Maanum has been one of the squad’s most consistent players.
The Gunners are in their first season with Swedish manager Jonas Eidevall at the helm. Eidevall and Hayes have been complimentary of one another in the run-up to this match; nothing out of the ordinary for Hayes, who almost always gives credit where credit is due and eschews trash talk.
Chelsea are again finding joy in the strike partnership between Sam Kerr and Fran Kirby, who lead the FA Women’s Super League in scoring. Pernille Harder has suffered some injuries this season but is of course formidable when she is on the pitch.
Chelsea has had some less-than-stellar performances this season, particularly on days when top names have been on the bench, and there have been some breakdowns in communication on defence. Coming back from international break into a cup final is a tough task, but Hayes will have her side prepared.
Chelsea: Aniek Nouwen and Pernille Harder will both be fit for the match. Maren Mjelde is not likely to feature as she continues returning from a serious knee injury. Sam Kerr is also ready to go despite all the travel over international break.
Arsenal: Jean Beattie and Nikita Parris have been in training after missing their last international games. Tobin Heath and Leah Williamson will not feature.
Check the Chelsea site for Wembley’s bag policy, COVID protocols, and a schedule of prematch events.
As always, the CFCW Twitter account will provide live updates.
The game is live on BT Sport, BBC1, BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website. Coverage starts at 1:30pm.
In the US, the game will be on ESPN +.
Chelsea has a 12 Games of Christmas Play Predictor game in the [5th Stand app.](The game is now open for the Women's FA Cup final) “Predict every game so that you are in with the chance of winning a £100 Megastore voucher and a Nike Chelsea shirt or football signed by the Women’s squad, while the top scorer each month will take home a £500 Megastore voucher and either a Nintendo Switch, iPad or PS5.”
Announced approximately one hour before kickoff.

2021.12.04 14:27 Burt3d How do YOU play your WL games?
I was talking to my friend who finishes all his FUT Champs games on a Friday and Saturday every weekend. He qualifies midweek and then plays 10 games on Friday evening and then the rest Saturday morning and afternoon.
Where as I qualify for FUT Champs Friday evening and then play 10 games on Saturday and 10 on Sunday.
Thought it would be interesting to see the most common way of playing.

2021.12.04 14:27 Alfie51 Best types of harnesses for dogs?
I don't really understand the Y-harness and the H-harness thing. Which one is better? Are Y-harnesses always step-in and H-harnesses always over-the-head? A Y-harness also looks like an H-harness to me, and vice versa.
Also, which one of these do you think is best?

2021.12.04 14:27 Banner80 Science update on Omicron: We don't know enough yet
With markets panicking and the news telling all sorts of stories, I just want to remind everyone that the alarmist newscaster is not the final word on what's going on with covid.
Here is actual reporting from scientists:
If you want, you can track proper science developments at the covid science sub /COVID19
As you would have guessed, we don't know enough yet:
Is It More Infectious? More Likely to Escape Our Immune Protections? Or What?submitted by Banner80 to EducatedInvesting [link] [comments]
Here's what we're going to be trying to figure out in the next days and weeks. Right now it's just not clear, despite what you might see in some headlines.[...]
Looking at the large number of Spike region mutations, Bedford believes that it's likely that Omicron is going to show greater immune evasion at the expense of transmissibility, and in fact it's possible that it might in the end be less transmissible than Delta is.[...]
Again, that does not mean that vaccine protection (or protection via prior infection) is suddenly useless, just that it may have been eroded to some degree that isn't clear yet. Just as before, you really, really need to get vaccinated, and you really, really need to get a booster if you can do that as well. That's a far better option than facing either Delta or Omicron with a naive immune system.
We gather as much reliable data as we can, as quickly as we can. We carefully monitor the spread of this variant and we try to figure out how many people each new patient has infected. We sequence cases as much as we can to make sure that Omicron isn't drifting into something even more concerning. Once people have recovered from it, we take blood samples from them and characterize what their immune response looks like and compare it to post-Delta cases and others. And (in experiments that are going on right now) we take blood samples from people who've had Delta, others who've had two shots of vaccine, and others who've had those plus a booster and we see how well their antibodies can neutralize Omicron in vitro. Those experiments will give us the earliest read on what we might expect in all these populations if this variant does really take off in the world, and we'll be watching the real-world data to make sure that things follow in the way we expect. We don't know nearly enough today - but we're going to know a lot more very soon.
